In American history, Wrangler is the company that most contributed to the development of clothing worn by pionneers and settlers in the Wild West. A lot of the innovations, marketing and production-wise, were introduced here first and has since become standards in the jeans trade. Although the first Wrangler jeans officially saw the light of day in 1947, the story of the company started a lot earlier in Abingdon, Illinois. In 1889, the Globe Superior Co. produces working clothes in denim. The West is still largely a wild frontier. The main activities in the US are farming, the nascent industry and railroads. At the start of the century, C.C. Hudson and his brother founds the Blue Bell Overall Co. in Greensboro, North Carolina. His products were geared to the local industry workers.
